Managing pelvic problems from the inside out means our team takes a wholistic approach to your recovery — combining internal assessments (where appropriate) with a thorough understanding of how the body moves and functions. We start with the pelvic floor, address related musculoskeletal issues, and work to restore whole-body balance so you can get back to doing the things you love most.

We’re passionate about optimising pelvic health and function for women, men, and children at every stage of life.

How is Pelvic Health Physiotherapy different from other physio visits at BaiMed?

Pelvic health physiotherapy appointments often begin with an extended 60-minute initial consultation. This gives you the opportunity to share your story, undergo a thorough assessment and diagnosis, and work with your clinician to develop a personalised recovery plan. You’ll receive education, support, and evidence-based treatment so you understand what to expect — including how many sessions may be needed to achieve meaningful results.

Can I bring my baby or child?

Yes — babies and children are welcome in our clinics and classes. If you’re attending with a newborn, we recommend bringing a pram or capsule to ensure your baby is safe and comfortable during your session. Feeding (breast or bottle) is welcome at any time, and nappy change facilities are available.

Will an internal examination be necessary?

For some pelvic health conditions, an internal examination (vaginal or rectal) provides the most accurate assessment. However, many sessions can be conducted externally and fully clothed if preferred. Internal exams are only offered when clinically indicated, and always after a thorough history, explanation, and with your informed consent. Our team practices trauma-informed care and ensures confidentiality, respect, and sensitivity for people of all genders, backgrounds, and experiences.

Can I attend pelvic physiotherapy while menstruating or experiencing irregular bleeding?

Yes. If you are menstruating and feel uncomfortable with certain assessments or treatments, please let your physiotherapist know — your session can be adjusted accordingly. We also understand that some pelvic conditions involve persistent or irregular bleeding, and our hygiene protocols are designed to accommodate this safely and respectfully.
